Oldstone was a townland south of Antrim and Muckamore in Ireland which once staged race meetings administered by the Old Rock and Chichester Foxhound Group. The first meeting took place on Thursday 21st November 1867, with the Northern Counties Railway laying on excursion trains to support the event. The meeting began with a £50 match in which Mr Chaine’s Caustic defeated Viscount Massereene’s Creole. Later the Hunt Cup was won by Wildfire. However, a meeting had been held the previous year on Thursday 8th November 1866 on a course close to the Belfast to Londonderry rail line. The demanding course stretched over 3 miles and included 32 fences. Before these meetings Chichester had held a meeting in its own right on Friday 31st July 1863 when the Memorial 2 year old Stakes was won by Lady Hyean, defeating Rigalobrooke and Ferronaul. The Oldstone meetings continued for just 2 more years until a final card on Tuesday 2nd November 1869.
